This can be a big benefit when you are hand sewing since thread is more likely to become tangled when you are not using a machine. The fact that silk thread is not only strong but also has a large amount of elasticity, and does not fray as easily as other threads is also a benefit. There are certain disadvantages too. They don’t have the property of insulation. They are soft when they are new ans become coarser as they become old. They are not suitable for wearing during outdoor activities in extremely cold region and snowy regions.

I have seen many reborn dolls, but I have never thought it was logical to spend that much money on something like that type of doll. I understand that the people who craft them spend lots of time making them look so real and, I guess, they should be paid for their hard work. But, even though the dolls look realistic, I see no purposeful use for them. Sure, people look at them and some may even cuddle them, but those are things that can be done with a doll from the dollar store. I have heard that there are people that have dozens of these dolls all over their house. I would think that it would be hard for those people to have any family or friends come to visit, especially if they bring any children with them. I would rather have the company of live children in my home instead of lifelike dolls.

When they saw the finished products, Sister Maria herself approved in the painting and sculpting of each porcelain piece, causing Goebel to have discovered that earthenware is the best medium for the production of the figurines.
Authentic Hummel Figurines have signatures and markings on every piece to easily determine whether the ones the public has are genuine or not. Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel requested that every piece should have her personal stamp on it that was approved by the convent and Franz Goebel as well. Not only does the personal stamp prove its authenticity, but also the mold number printed on the bottom of each piece and the Goebel stamp located on the underside of every figurine.
